Rodney Bell is a Disabled Artist who is nationally Internationally respected. Dance being Rodney’s primary expression, He acknowledges all those who have enhanced His creative Journey.

Rodney is a provocateur and advocator for Deaf and Disabled Artists and Communities who approaches projects collaboratively. He brings His lived experience of Disability, Maaori Culture and International experience and as a foundation to enhance His unique presence in creative spaces and communities.

Rodney was a founding member and now an Artistic Director for Touch Compass Dance Company alongside Lusi Faiva and Suzanne Cowan. Touch Compass is a Disability-led Mixed-ability Dance Company in Aotearoa with its primary focus is to enhance Deaf and Disabled Artist.  

Rodney and co-directors acknowledge previous Artistic Director Pelenakeke Brown-Disabled Artist, for shifting the creative lens and direction and leadership of Touch Compass for the current Artistic Directors to build upon.  

As an advocator and provocateur for Deaf and Disabled Artists, Rodney is always looking for opportunity to support and collaborate with Artists, processes and especially to enhance Access for performances, audience and presenters.
