Deaf-led organisations:
Equal Voices Arts
Equal Voices Arts are Aotearoa’s first professional touring Deaf and hearing theatre company, performing in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and spoken English, making original theatre performance work accessible for both d/Deaf and hearing audiences. They are based in Kirikiriroa.
JPF Films
Te Whanganui-a-Tara based film company JPF Films was created by Deaf film maker Jared Flitcroft.
Disability-led organisations:
Crip the Lit
Crip the Lit was formed in 2016 by Trish Harris and Robyn Hunt as a way for Deaf and disabled writers to have our unique voices, perspectives and stories included and valued in mainstream writing in New Zealand.
Disabled Artists Festival of Theatre
Disabled Artists Festival of Theatre celebrates and recognises the identity, community, and work of d/Deaf and Disabled artists in the performing arts in Wellington.
Everybody Cool Lives Here
Everybody Cool Lives Here produce art that reflects and celebrates Aotearoa’s unique and diverse identity. They connect artists and groups, empowering them to create dialogue within the wider community.
Touch Compass
Founded in 1997 Touch Compass, Hau Tipua Toi is a professional disabled-led performing arts company who deliver high-quality performances and arts activations.
